Boilerplate
Steady Pace is a private, offline running app for iPhone. A continuous tone rises when you slow and falls when you speed up, so you keep an even pace without watching a screen. It makes zero network connections, has no account, no ads, no subscription, and anonymizes GPS on the device. One purchase, every feature included.
Why it's different
- Run by ear. Audio pacing instead of looking at a screen. The tone rises when you slow and falls when you speed up.
- Truly private. Zero network connections, GPS anonymized on-device, no account, nothing uploaded.
- Pay once. One-time purchase, every feature, no subscription, no ads.
The hook
Running apps have become $120-a-year subscriptions that harvest location data. In 2018 a fitness heatmap exposed the outlines of military bases from users' runs. Steady Pace takes a different approach: buy once, private, offline, with no network connections.

Also includes
A cadence metronome, spoken split announcements, GPS-plus-barometer distance and elevation with Kalman-filtered accuracy, and automatic crash recovery that resumes a run where it left off if the app is killed mid-run.
What it does not do (on purpose)
No heart rate, no training plans, no coached or guided audio workouts, no social feed, and no maps. Steady Pace is a focused pacing tool for running by ear.
